Imibala Art Gallery
Graaff-Reinet is a hub for local South African creatives, making it a perfect destination for art and crafts enthusiasts to explore the charming side streets and discover unique treasures amidst the historically rich surroundings. Nestled within the Drostdy Hotel, the Imibala Gallery comes highly recommended. More than just an art space, it mirrors our dedication to positive change. The gallery is a platform for promoting the talents of local artists, featuring a diverse array of works that carry cultural and historical significance. Regularly updated exhibitions provide a dynamic experience, showcasing artworks available for both viewing and purchase.
With the opening of the Imibala Gallery in Graaff-Reinet in 2014, work for the Trust had a launch pad in this beautiful country town. The basic entry programme of Sponsor A Child has now been rolled out into 10 schools. Through outreach into the community and advertising at the Drostdy Hotel and in the Gallery itself, more than 400 children receive school uniforms.
